The Story
From Trieste to Las Vegas to Dubai
Riccardo "Rico" Rizzi started boxing in his hometown of Trieste, Italy, more than ten years ago. What began as a teenage gym habit turned into a full competitive amateur career under the Italian boxing federation — and the conviction that boxing could take him further than the local rings.
The conviction was correct. The American chapter — documented by the Italian press in 2019 — was decisive: Riccardo sparred at Gleason's Gym in New York, trained at Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas and at City Boxing Club under high-level professionals, and added rounds at Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles — Freddie Roach's gym, the place that produced Manny Pacquiao. Las Vegas, in particular, became the city that shaped his technique, mentality and willingness to live entirely for the sport.
After returning to Europe and turning professional, Riccardo moved to Dubai, where he combined competing internationally with coaching VIPs, executives and high-net-worth residents. He founded RICO Boxing Academy to formalise the offer: premium, private boxing coaching at the client's location.
On October 6, 2024, Riccardo fought at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and was crowned UBO Continental (Asia) Champion — the highest title of his career to date and the only one held by an active coach operating 1-on-1 in Dubai.
